 Our Story

Back in 2017, we were both teaching in Detroit when we met and clicked over our shared love of exploring new places. What started as Happy Hours after work and talking about our travel dreams turned into actually booking those trips together.

Now we live in different states, but we’re still each other’s go-to travel partner. We’ve done everything from last-minute road trips to months-long planning sessions for international adventures. Through all the delayed flights, language barriers, and “wait, did we book the right hotel?” moments, we’ve figured out how to travel smart and make it work on a teacher’s budget.

Why We Do This

As Black women who’ve navigated airports, hostels, and foreign streets together, we know firsthand that travel can feel intimidating – especially when you don’t see yourself represented in those glossy travel magazines. That’s exactly why we started documenting our journeys.
